Find out why lagging lines occurred in Photoshop when you draw with a graphics tablet and learn how to fix it

Encounter lagged issue with a drawing tablet in Photoshop. You will not only check the configuration of the computer and pen tablet itself but also need to check the settings in Photoshop. We suggest that you should deselect a “use graphics processor” in Photoshop. Please follow the instructions below.

Step1: Launch Photoshop > Click Edit on the tool options bar  > Select Preferences > Choose Performance 

 

Step 2: Deselect‘✔’in “Use Graphics Processor” > Click OK

Step 3:  Click the “Brush Icon” on the toolbar > Click “Gear Icon”  > Select “Reset Tool”

Besides the above reason, “Smoothing” is also a key factor that causes lagging lines in Photoshop when you draw with a graphics tablet.

Find the “Brush ” icon on the left-hand toolbar, and click it.

It sets “Smoothing” to 10% by default. If you find the line is still lagging, the most effective way to solve the graphics tablet lagged issue in Photoshop is to minimize the values of “Smoothing” to 5% or less.
